Effect : Magician explains that his trained dove would like to attempt a death defying escape. Introduced to the audience is the death defying apparatus, which is basically a plexiglass box at the bottom and a rack of stainless steel razor sharp spikes hanging above the box. The magician now places the dove inside the box, the audience can see bird going in box thru the small window in front . Now the magician explains the audience , that due to the danger of this illusion, a small curtain will be place in front "should anything go wrong"

The magician introduces a small shoebox size container with a red cross symbol on it, and explains that should anything go wrong, the necessary medical supplies are in the box. The box is set on a table across the stage, or given to a volunteer to hold. At this point, a small candle is lit, and the rope burns thru and WHAM you hear a loud crash as the spikes drop completely thru the box . Magician acts like something went wrong, he/she pulls silver curtain off front window of box, to reveal spikes have penetrated the box, and the dove has vanished ! He walks over the medical supply box (either on table or with volunteer) to reveal the dove is now in the medical supply box . Magician receives HUGE round of applause.

This is a totally original idea, inspired by the stage illusion table of death. Huge potential in comedy value for this effect. This is built out of quality materials, aluminum frame, plexiglass window, steel spikes. The burning thru rope is optional , as there is a manual release if you don't want to use the candle. The dove is actually seen thru the window when he is placed in the box. The dove is in ZERO danger during this illusion.
